Weird Problem

G

Giorgio Gentili

Hi all, first thanks for your time.

My problem is the following:

I made an Application in Access XP to run in 97, after doing the rights
modifications to certains references ('cause i use the Excel), the program
runs in every computer that i installed (4 PCs and a VMware PC)

After this every change made to the source was succesfully applied to all
computers.

At this point all seems to go perfect.

The problem begins when after an external problem a hard disk from one of
this PCs (one with Win2k Server and Office 97) must be changed. They install
it again with (Win2K Server but Office 2000) actually this isn't to worry
about because my XP database are really in 2k format. But when I installed
it (no code changed since it was working) it doesn't run. So I installed
again (after uninstall first) Office 2000, nothing happens, finally i choose
to install Office XP instead. Nothing again. (obviously updating references)

The error threw is:

Index not found (Importing DBF's)

so i re-linked DBFs assuming that may be something wrong with this.

when i was re-linking (with mouse,no code), it threw me again the error (in
the link window)

I'm desperated, i don't know what it could be

As I know (and the experience with all the times my program worked) if you
doesn't have the .ntx file Access simply must skip ths step.

So it's a bug, anybody knows how fix it.

Thanks for your time and sorry about my english.

Bye

Giorgio Gentili
