What can I upgrade Office XP from?

D

David Brink

I have loaded MS Office (Student/Teacher Edition) 2003 on my
notebook...running in XP Home OS. I tried to install Office XP Professional
(version 2002) upgrade in order to get the additional software (access,
publisher, etc); however, the installation of Office XP Professional cannot
detect an existing product on my system, and the installation will not
continue from that point.

(1) Is it because the MS Office 2003 is a later version than Office XP
Professional v2002, that the installation cannot occur?

How do I now go about getting the other software from Office XP Professional
-- that I've already purchased?

Thanks for your help?

David

Office/Student Teacher Edition does not qualify for an upgrade. Sorry.

Tom,

Thanks for your quick response. I was told by the store where I purchased
the student/teacher edition that it was.

I don't quite know then what my options are now that I've already purchased
and installed (broke the seal) on the Office 2003. I work at home and use
all of the office products but now no longer have Access (basically the only
one I'm depending on).

Any suggestions short of going out and purchasing a new copy of Access?

Thanks again in advance.

Dave

Microsoft Office 2003 Editions is NOT a product that qualifies for the Microsoft Office XP (2002) upgrade due
to fact that Microsoft Office 2003 Editions was released AFTER Microsoft Office XP.

However, if Microsoft offered "downgrade" versions of Microsoft Office, then Microsoft Office 2003 Editions
would be a qualifying product. But since Microsoft wants everyone to "upgrade" and spend more money (at the
Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price of course), I doubt that a "downgrade" version would ever be released.
