I'm putting together some training and planning to show the mailbox cleanup
feature. The last area in the dialog is "delete all alternate versions of
items in your mailbox". There's a delete button. There's a button to view
the size of the conflicts. My users are terrified by the idea that Outlook
will delete something, but I can't explain what this does to them. I've
tried Help. I've tried a search of the knowledge base. I've taken the
online training. Nothing explains this feature.
Anyone got a quick, easy and clear definition of what an "alternate version"
of an item is? How it relates to "conflicts"?
