What is the most complex Access application you've ever seen?

I'm saying that ADP doesn't need to create a seperate DSN to point to
100 different databases on the same server

im saying I can refer to master.dbo.sysobjects -- and all I would have
to do would be to simply type and extra 10 letters in front of it.

I dont see that feature inside of MDB.

you kids sit there and bitch about how ADP only works with one
database-- and that just blatantly is incorrect.

I here claim that ADP is _BETTER_ for consuming data from multiple
databases than MDB... because you don't have to create a DSN to digest
data from 6 different databases (on the same server)

and I don't need to create a seperate file to use a Temp MDB.. I can
use the TempDB that ships with SQL Server.

Microsoft Access is just another RDMS (Relation Database Management
System) package that offers data warehousing and programming
functionality. Obviously it has its own limitations, which makes this
tool either appropriate or inappropriate for some situations. However,
there are instances where Access works wonderfully.

I have worked with Access for nearly 10 years now, and I really like
some of its capabilities. I presently use Access for autonomous
reporting and programming. For example, I have Access projects updating
XML and HTML files (programs writing code for me). Meanwhile, I have
Access creating SVG files for business charts and more.

Access can get as complex as you can imagine--there are no limitations
beyond those stipulated by Microsoft, the hardware, etc.

yeah.. but MDB is for babies. It isn't stable enough it isn't reliable
enough for a single record and a single user.

I mean; you can't run it across the network-- for performance reasons.
you can't run it across a wireless network-- for stability reasons.

MDB is for babies.

ADP won the war 6 years ago.

All of the real developers (ADP) are in the SQL newsgroups

you don't think that CORRECTING MIS-INFORMATION about ADP is
newsworthy?

No, I just feel that anyone who uses foul language and is derogatory has nothing else
worth responding to.

well i think that correcting mis-information is more important to
anything.

these lazy mdb developers need to get up to speed.. and realize that
instead of workaround after workaround after workaround-- that there is
a better, simpler way.

That easier, simpler-- better way-- is called Access Data Projects.

It's laughable that you're too much of a wimp to learn them.

Rick;

if I felt like strapping myself to the stupidest name that I could
possibly think of?

I might just choose 'Rick Brandt'

how you like me now bitch?

are you that big of an idiot to think that ADP only works against a
single DB?

I ACCEPT YOUR APOLOGY.

Lose the training wheels or EAT SHIT.

Thought so. It seemed out of character for you to respond to Rick that way.

Thanks for the clarification.

I see you've come back with your little hammer, it's not worn out yet
with all those problems you see which only look like nails then?

Terry

you MDB idiots are the ones with the baby hammers.. i wouldn't talk
back

ADP is just, altogether-- a MUCH superior platform

Aren't you tired of compact and repair?
Aren't you tired of rolling your own tempDB?
Aren't you tired of copying tables and queries to the frontend?
