What is the Status Bar used for?

It can be used to give a progress comment for a running macro without
having to use the messagebox.
e.g.

Application.DisplayStatusBar = True 'Show progress
Application.ScreenUpdating = False


'1. Check for latest update
Application.StatusBar = "Checking for latest update..."

I use it for providing simple information to the user. Like how far
through a process a macro has reached, or the name of a file that is
currently being saved or imported, etc.
