Someone is looking into it as we speak.

That would be me.

Unfortunately, the Entourage Help Page will probably not be back online
any time soon. The site was NOT maintained by the MVPs as a group, but
by an individual, Diane Ross, who has been going through serious
personal difficulties, both in health, family, and in other ways. She
informs me she has resigned from the MVP program. Without going into
any detail, let me just offer my opinion that it is highly unlikely she
will be restoring the MVP Entourage Help Page, although it is possible
she will launch a similar site elsewhere under a different name.

The Entourage MVPs may rally around and try to gather all the useful
information they can into a new site, but such an effort is sure to
take considerable time. In the meantime, bring your questions here and
we'll do the best we can.

HELP for Entourage: http://entourage.mvps.org

Does anyone maintain a site backup? Or has this turned into some sort of
"legal battle" about the content somehow being "her intellectual property?"

As a workaround if you really need to access the content, you can use
the cached versions on google. You can even restrict the search to this
specific site to make is easier. In your query, add
site:entourage.mvps.org eg:
postfix site:entourage.mvps.org

Good point. Sometimes that cached content can be quite old. But...as any
prisoner will tell you, old toast is always better than no toast. ;-)

The pages are still in the Wayback Machine over at <http://www.archive.org/>

They don't seem to include anything about 11.2.3, but they're better than
nothing.

The disappearance of the MVPs Entourage Help Page and its links provided
superb support for consumers.

Diane Ross built and nurtured something of considerable value to consumers.

But it was more than the intellectual property of one person. It contained
nuggets provided by lots of MVPs and others who field questions in this
newsgroup and even from those of us who post the questions and problems.
As such, it's unbelievable that the site could be pulled from one day to the
next.

It may not have been intended as such, but the disappearance of the site
hurts Entourage users. It's a slap in the face for all of us consumers who
have bookmarked the links and recommended what used to be a great resource.

Respectfully, Norm

Thanks, Corentin.

To make it easier for myself, I just saved an Entourage Note under the title

"Entourage MVP site searches via Google cached information:

"Enter into Google search box keyword followed by a space and then
site:entourage.mvps.org

"Example if searching for tasks:
tasks site:entourage.mvps.org

"This brings up:
http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en&q=tasks+site:entourage.mvp
s.org&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8

"From there, go to any topic, but click on the word Cached-- NOT the link
itself."

But Google-ing, rather than going directly to the website and its links,
costs valuable time and inflicts frustration when you accidentally click on
a link while in cached information.

I really relied on "www.entourage.mvps.org", in fact my fingers had that
URL as one of their macros ;)

Now the web page says,

"The Entourage Help Page has been discontinued.
I am searching for a new host for the site."

I thought it was hosted by mvps.org?

Looking forward to its return, those pages saved me from many hours of
frustration supporting our Mac Entourage users in an Outlook world.

Hey Norm, the Entoruage team certainly also greatly appreciated the site.
I've been talking to the MVPs and Diane about how we might get such a
resource rolling again.

Don't worry, something will be back up. Personally, I'd like to think about
getting a WiKi going so that the entire Entourage user community may
contribute to the site and no single person has to go through the immense
amount of effort Diane needed to do in order to maintain the previous site.

Stay tuned...

-Andy

Just a note that some MVPs are still including the now-dead link to the
Entourage MVPs Help Page in their posting signatures (see below) and, as I
discovered by visiting Mr. Watson's homepage, on their own websites as well.

No doubt about it Norm. Believe me, as soon as another solution will be
available, we'll be more than happy to announce it here :-\

Yeah, it's difficult to get used to the fact that the site is no longer
online I guess. Additionally, when you've been posting with the same
signature for years, you don't even read it anymore (and that's when I
realized I'm not even mentioning my own site in mine :-\ ).

As of now, the site is back online. We're still going to be working with
Diane, the MVPs, and the rest of the user community to see how we might go
about insuring that such a valuable resource continues indefinitely.

The subject of the original thread that I've taken the liberty to change WAS
(past tense):

Re: WHAT?! "The Entourage Help Page has been discontinued."

Thank you very much Andy Ruff for the good news. As a frequent visitor to
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/
and the well-organized, interpretive and valuable information in its links,
I am delighted with its return.

Thank you so very much Diane Ross for what you've created and nurtured at
http://www.entourage.mvps.org/ for Entourage users. Your volunteer service
and your achievements in bringing us the support of that site means a great
deal to folks like me with questions, problems and a desire to more
effectively work with Entourage.

And thank you so very much to ALL the MVPs and other volunteers who
contribute so generously of your energy, time, patience and thoughtfulness
to the Office for Mac newsgroups.

Respectfully, Norm
