Sometimes project reports an overallocation even when there is not.
This primarily seems to occur when a person is assigned to multiple
tasks taking less than one day in total. I understand that this is due
to project scheduling both activites to start at the same time (lets
say 8:00am). I don't care about this. Intra day scheduling can be left
to the resource. Infact intra week would be sufficient for my purposes.
My understanding of day by day and week by week levelling is that as
long as the hours are no more than 8 or 40 respectively then the
resource should not be considered overallocated. I can show cases where
the hours add up to 8 but are still over allocated.
What am I missing?
