when i pull up powerpoint itype but it donot show up

i have the trial version i tried using it in powerpoint but i can not type
anything it says click to print text but nothing

When you click on the box that you want to have the text, does the box
change? It should remove the 'Click to add text' message and replace it
with a cursor. Is this what happens?
