whenever object were selected in a pub, a tiny mark would appear on the horiz
& vert rulers.

When you pick on an item, look just below the ruler. There is a white
rectangle indicating the position. If you need numbers, sekect the item and
look in the lower right corner. That's the position of the upper left corner
of the item.

In the prior version, when I would click on an object the horiz & vertical
boundaries would (top/bottom & rt/left) would be identified by a tiny mark on
the rulers. It was always helpful for resizing objects to be the same size
as another or to line up objects across or vertically on a page(especially
using nudge). I'm sure there are other methods, just a habit. If the mark
isn't avail any longer the old dog will have to learn a new trick!

Select one of your objects and drag it or move it with
your arrow keys and watch the rulers. You will see the
white indicators on the inside edges of the ruler guides
that JoAnn mentioned.

The white indicators are the exact width and height of
the selected object.

In the colour scheme on my test machine these boxes were almost
invisible and there is no black line boundry as in earlier versions.
So they changed, not disappeared as I said earlier.
I can learn something everyday.

Yeah...newsgroups are a great resource.
I would be totally in the dark without them.
