Where can I download stand alone office 2003 updates?

I'm looking to be able to download the office downloads as a stand alone
installation so that I can remove it and install it on another computer
later.

Can anybody tell me how to do this?

See
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.aspx?displaylang=en&categoryid=9
for a good place to start.
Not sure what you mean by "remove it" - why would you need to remove an
update unless it was causing problems? Updates aren't licensed - Office is.

Sorry I did not understand your first post.

Go here:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/search.asp?LangID=20&LangDIR=EN-US

In the Keyword box enter 2003.

In the drop down product list select: Office Systems.

You still nay need your Office CDs to install.

Office 2003 SP-1 can be ordered { in North America} on a free CD from:

http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx

Click on the Order Service Packs on CDs link.

Oh Thanks ever so much Don! Thats a big help. I found it quite confusing
actually, I saw one page with two downloads and different sizes but both
saying the same ID, so you know it is making it confusing.

If it sais 2003 SP1 on the program that I have downloaded (eg self extract
file of about 18mb) is this 100% the right deal?

While 18 Mb appears about right, I am not sure.

The download site provides all available downloads. Some knowledge of what
to download is expected.

You appear to not have that knowledge.

What I suggest you do, if you live in North America, is order the free CD
Service Pack 1 CD. This CD collects prior updates and add a some more. If
you live outside North America, check with your regional Microsoft to
determine what they have available.

Once you install Office 2003 on your next computer and install the SP-1 CD
then go back to Office updates and see what else needs to be installed.
Other than service packs, the Office update usually are of reasonable size
even for a slow dialup connection. If you find one of excessive size, go
back to the download site and download that one with a fast connection.

Thanks for your advice Don, I dont live in the US I live in the UK so not
sure if we get a free one or not.
The sizes are confusing as there is one for an administrator which is 70MB
or above so it makes it confusing.

They give several downloads of the same product eg. SP1, of slightly
different sizes, again confusing, Iam assuming it is some kind of different
loader that it has got attached to it.

Fin.

Above the file download link, there is a explanation that the file of about
18 Mb is for when you have access to the original installation CDs. The
larger file is for when you do not. Both require Office 2003 previously
installed to install.

I do not know the policy in the UK. Some UK poster to this group should be
able to help. What you can try is to go back to:
http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/officeupdate/default.aspx

Look down the left side for Office Worldwide. Click on that link to find the
Office page for the UK. You may find some information on service pack CDs
there.

applied or not.

Thanks for all your help Don.
