Where is Normal Template

Hi all

I have a user with Office XP and his document default paper size is letter,
should be A4.

I believe that to alter this, I need to change the Template file Normal.dot.
Is this accessible at user level in XP?
Where is it located and can I browse to it as the user?
Surely it can't be this difficult to alter your initial document setup?

TIA

Hi Phil

To change the paper size for all documents subsequently created from
normal.dot, do File > Page Setup. On the Paper tab, choose A4 and then click
Default. If you're later asked whether to save normal.dot, say yes.

You can also do this the long way round. To edit normal.dot directly, do
File > New, navigate to the location of normal.dot and edit it directly from
there. See the following which, while not immediately directed to your
needs, will give you information about how to edit normal.dot directly:

Why is my "Blank Document" not blank?

Hope this helps.

Thanks Greg and Shauna

Why does this bit:

<To change the paper size for all documents subsequently created from
normal.dot, do File > Page Setup. On the Paper tab, choose A4 and then click
Default. If you're later asked whether to save normal.dot, say yes.>

not appear obviously in the Template help - or am I blind?
