White space between pages

Selvan

Hi,

I have Windows XP Pro and Office 2003 Pro with all the latest updates.

I can't seem to make the check mark in the box next to "White space between
pages (Print view only)" stay. If I close and re-open the document (or Word)
and go to Tools, Options, View tab, the check mark is gone.

This problem exists on only one of many similar documents I have created and
saved locally.

Please help me learn why this is.

Thanks

If Word isn't remembering your "Tools | Options" preferences, then Word's
data key in the registry could be damaged. As described in
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/MissngMenusEtc.htm, start Word with the
/a switch, then close Word and restart it normally... does that fix the
problem? If not, then rename the data key (as described in the referenced
article) and see if that fixes the problem.

Hi garfield-n-odie,

Thanks for the help.

I actually already tried renaming the key "Data" and it did not help. Since
your post, I tried the /a switch, it too did not help.

But since this is related to only one certain document, I'm not going to
worry about it. When I create a new doc and test the same, all is fine.

Strange that it's only effected one certain doc.

Thanks
