Why am I receiving this error message?

Running Office Prof 2003. Cannot open personal folders file

Error Message--


Task 'pop.pit.adelphia.net - Receiving' reported error (0x80040600) :
'Unknown Error 0x80040600'
Task 'pop.gmail.com - Receiving' reported error (0x80040600) : 'Unknown
Error 0x80040600'

Tried to use the inbox repair tool--no luck

Not receiving emails.

Just been having that error message. It means the personal folders file
(*.pst) is corrupt according to MAPI.dll. Repairing it is more
problematic
1. Scanpst (in the "\program files\microsoft office\officexx" directory
, takes ages and may not work.
2. Get a third party tool, which will cost you
Beyond that I have yet to find a solution

Look up 80040600

Is MAPI_E_CORRUPT_STORE

Make a new profile (a new pst) and add the old pst Personal Folder. Then
drag and drop the stuff out of the old and into the new where of course now
your new pst is receiving the e-mail.
