Why are Lines out of sequence when opened within a consolidation?

Project 2003 - a large consolidated file of 60 files, each from a similar
template. Opening a constituent file shows erroneous line ordering, corrected
by Closing and re-Opening. I correct one to find that other, previously
correct files, offscreen at the time are now corrupted. Any suggestion
welcome.

Jim,
When a file is opened and tasks are out of sequence, the indication is a
sort has been applied right before the file was last saved. I suggest
you open the file, sort by ID and then save.

If you suspect corruption, go to the MVP website at:
http://www.mvps.org/project/faqs.htm
and look at FAQ 43 - File Bloat? Might be corruption.
