Calendar is duplicating on file open. How do I prevent this occurr

Using MSP2007std, XPP

I am setting up our PMS system, comprising about 40 jobs inserted into a
master schedule file, and using a resource pool.

In the resource pool file, I have created a company calendar called "SVM"
with our std work hours, holidays etc. This is to be the Project calendar for
all jobs. I have used Organiser to copy this to global.mpt, and it is then
copied up to new jobs.

There are several other calendars that have been used in the same way.

My problem is that when I open a project a new duplicate calendar called
SVM1 is automatically getting defined as the Project Calendar. The next time
it is SVM2, next SVM3, etc. This happens with all custom calendars used in
that file, and eventually there are dozens of calendars in each project,
which eventually find thier way back to the resource pool, and the
consolidated file, but not to Global.mpt. Only the latest is in use in any
one file, but it might be SVM2 there, and SVM4 somewhere else (otherwise they
are identical).

I thought I could solve this by copying the correct calendars from the
Resource Pool File to Global.mpt. Then I opened each file, deleted all
calendars except "Standard", then copied new ones in from Global.mpt, and
saved the file. I did this for all files, so that every file, including the
resource and master schedule would contain identical calendars.

This seemed to work initially but now after 3 or 4 opens the renaming is re
occurring.

Why is this happenning, and how do I prevent it?

Also, is it definitely not possible to modify the "Standard" calendar? It is
just a nuisance to me.

Thanks for your assistance,

Adam.
