why can't I use office from pc on my laptop?

I spent a lot of money for office for my pc. It is registered to me so why
can't I install it on my laptop? I own both items and I am not trying to
share with an unauthorized user. It let me install it but will not let me
register it because it says it is registered to my pc.

you can install on your laptop just use the telephone method to activate
