http://www.remotedirector.com to see if 1st you can access it, and 2nd if
you can change anything & save it . I think the original problem was the
firewall. Turns out the ZoneAlarm firewall does not support IIS. It is
meant to be just for clients, not servers. Secondly, I uninstalled it. I
was immediately able to access the site correctly. Then, I installed an
earlier version of ZA, per recommendations at the ZA site. I was unable to
access my site from the outside. What I did was configure ZA to ask for
permission on any new requests. Then I accessed each tab in the properties
for "default web site" in IIS. ZA asked for permission - I allowed it. Now
I'm able to access my site from the outside and it appears to function
correctly. Now, if you could try accessing it and try to change something,
that'd be great. Please post what happens. Thank you!

You say you can't get in, but is the site accessible? Do you come to a blue home page entitled "Welcome to my Web site?" Are you able to access the Interests or Photo Gallery & the pics? On another note, if you would not suggest ZoneAlarm as a firewall, would you have any other recommendations for a firewall or solution that will enable me to access a home automation server in the house that will serve streaming video upon motion alerts or allow password-secured control of lights and such, yet still remain protected from hackers or malicious code?

I thought I had permissions correctly set, but apparently not. Do you know what I need to configure in the web site's properties area; specifically what should be checked or unchecked, etc. in the Directory Security tab?

Yes, I can see everything now, only it's purple on my machine (gamma's off a tad). I can see the photogallery...everything is visible, all links working. The photogallery page is a little slow.

Btw...I left you another msg on your index page. The site is STILL open...you need to find out how to do that if you're gonna run your own server. Zone Alarm is fine but not for this application. I use Zone Alarm and Sygate...but I don't run my own server. One of the gurus will have to help you on this.

BTW, you don't need to run your own server to ftp web cams.

Don't forget to delete my msg on the index page again.

On another note, if you would not suggest ZoneAlarm as a firewall, would you have any other recommendations for a firewall or solution that will enable me to access a home automation server in the house that will serve streaming video upon motion alerts or allow password-secured control of lights and such, yet still remain protected from hackers or malicious code?

Crash - I received your "posting" on my site last night. Doh! Thought I had it fixed! Please try again when you get a chance. Your recommendation to check out the IIS forum was an excellent idea. A member there has started to enlighten me about users and groups in managing my computer. I had seen these before but have not understood them. I still don't completely understand but working on it with everyone's help in these forums.

Yah...weird huh.

Don't think its malicious script, I think he had images all over the place and css files scattered about. While I was in there I have a feelling he was too, because when I came out the css seemed to take effect...I think Star was fixing things. I didn't do anything except add my little note on the index page. Maybe some of the derived stuff was floating around as well.

Boy that's bad huh!

I think it's locked down now, but Star hasn't removed my msg though.

I probably shouldn't have posted this in the open, but didn't think of it till after I pushed the send button.
