Why Does MSP2K7 Pro Insert a Row when pasting into the predecessor

Why Does MSP2K7 Pro Insert a Row when pasting into the predecessor field. I
am running MSP2K7 server and have a Master Project with 6 subs. If I open up
one of the sub projects and type or paste a predessor link into the
predecessor field, a brand new row is inserted into the project. The row
that is inserted is from the linked project. Why does this happen?

Hello Brad,

The "extra" row you see is the external predecessor. You may hide the
display of external predecessors/successors in Tools > Options, View
tab. Uncheck "Show external successors" and "Show external
predecessors"
