Why does the box color green?

Just wondering something and it might have to do with my display preferences but I wanted to double check since I can't find anything in the HELP.

I was trying to change the language in a Word 2003 document. TOOLS>LANGUAGE>SETLANUAGE

I noticed that the "Do not check spelling or grammer box" was highlighted green. I can click on it and it will enter in a check mark or I can click again and the check mark goes away and I can click a third time and the square becomes green again?? Is there anything too this or it is just a setting issue?

thanks, steph

Most of us see gray instead of green, but whenever you see any setting
marked this way, it just means that the selected text (or in this case the
whole document) has varying settings, some on and some off. Many check boxes
cycle through these On, Off, "various" settings.

Well, since it means that "Do not check spelling or grammar" is selected for
some of the text in your document, that would result in the text so
formatted not being spell checked. Use Ctrl+A to select your entire
document, clear the check box, then try again.

do you know if there is anyway this green box would have something to do
with spell check not working properly?
