spell check does not check the whole document

Hi, i am running microsoft office home & student 2007, the problem is with
word.
when i open the document and try spell check i get the message "the spelling
and grammer check is complete text marked with do not check spelling or
grammer was skipped"
if i then try run spell check again i just get the slightly different
message "the spelling and grammer check is complete". i can track through the
first 3 or 4 lines where i put a T on the end of the word and it underlines
the word in red as standard but after the 4th line it stops underlining. if i
copy and paste into blank document the same result.
