Why don't graphics change while music playing?

I have a powerpoint 2003 presentation that has either an .mp3 or .wav sound
clip - 30 seconds long. Two other graphics on the same slide do not change
after music starts playing and slide does not progress to the next slide.

Sound inserted on a slide is considered an animated object. If there are other
objects that you want to animate, set the first of the sequence to start "with
previous" so that it will run while the music plays. This assumes that the
music file is the first listed in the Custom Animation pane. (If need be, go to
View and click Task Pane so that you can see the Custom Animation pane.)
