why MS Office document imaging file?

Help..... I cannot get into any files programs or data without getting a box
saying "the selected file is not a valid microsoft office document imaging
file."

Microsoft office document program always opens when I try to open programs
and gives the above message. I can get on the internet.

Can't get in any options to do anything in the control power without
getting the above message. How do I get this crummy box to go away. I can't
open or load any fix programs from Norton fixes or from the Microsoft XP
system disk. HELP

1. Dump Norton.
2. Open My Computer->Tools->View->File types - change the association for
what opens your programs.
