Why "Unread Mail" folder shows files in a folder, which is empty?

Folder ABC to which I direct e-mails coming to my main e-mail address
contains only e-mails that I have already read, but “Unread Mail†folder
shows that there are unread messages in folder ABC. When I am performing
“Advanced Find†of any chosen “unread†message (through Tools, Find, Advanced
Find), Outlook consistently shows this message in folder ABC. The problem is
that there is no such message in this folder. I can open the message in the
“Unread Mail†folder, but as soon as I move to another message I am loosing
the message I was interested in without possibility of recovery.

Are you saying that while you're in the Unread Mail folder, once you've
opened/read the mail you can no longer see it?
