Why won't XP outlook remeber passwords

I've done the obvious things, check the box both before
and after entering my password, as well as checking the
box in the email account setup administration, yet I
still have to type in my passwords every time. It must
be something simple, but I just can't find it.

There have been several recent issues with passwords not being retained
with Outlook. Service Pack 1 for Outlook 2002 solves many of these, so
start there. If it doesn't help, here are some other solutions:

For Outlook 2000 or 2002 on Win 98, NT, or 2000:
