Windows Installer

ok, i've got one that is baffling me.

when i restart my computer and log in or open an office xp program i get a
"windows installer" window that says preparing to install. (on reboot it
looks like .ppt is trying to reinstall) then i get a "norton antivirus" 2005
window that says Norton AntiVirus 2005 does not support the Repair feature,
please uninstall and reinstall. after clicking "ok" to norton and "cancel"
to windows installer a couple of times the application opens and works
perfectly.

is this an Office XP problem or an NAV problem?
i haven't made any changes or moved any office files.
this is licensed, not pirated, software.
windows and office XP
i did just (within the last few days) purchase the NAV upgrade which leads
me to believe its a NAV problem but why would NAV be initiating an install
or checking for viruses when and app is opened.

help me please.

thanks.

Yes please post comments! I have the same problem and I posted about
a week ago but received no comments.

Norton Internet Security 2005 installed on top of an existing Office
2000 running under Windows 2000 Pro. Same error message (from NAV
2005) but only when trying to run Office applications, nothing weird
at shutdown. After clicking cancel a few times the application
continues to load and works fine.

Thanks!

Stupidly I forgot to google this error message the first time I
encountered it. Today I remembered and found a quick solution as
always. Check here, be sure to aslo read the non-Symantec way of
rectifying this (i.e. also Read their sticky post on the subject).
