Then something went wrong with your Office/Outlook 2003 installation, as by
installing OL2003 the earlier version should have been removed. Only a
single version of OL can be installed.

in add/remove programs but would not remove) until we got a patch off the
Microsoft office website.

I get the exact same thing (no application, just Windows) at work. It's a
laptop with Office 2003 and everytime I try to open Excel (3x a week), I get
the same message. It eventually goes away and Excel opens just fine. (I've
read several fixes that involve registry edits but I don't have a lot of
time to find a place where I can hook it into the network and tweak the
registry. Days like today don't leave me much time to "powder my nose".)

the same message. It eventually goes away and Excel opens just fine. (I've

I get the exact same thing (no application, just Windows) at work. It's a
laptop with Office 2003 and everytime I try to open Excel (3x a week), I get
the same message. It eventually goes away and Excel opens just fine. (I've
read several fixes that involve registry edits but I don't have a lot of
time to find a place where I can hook it into the network and tweak the
registry. Days like today don't leave me much time to "powder my nose".)

I got it on a different machine b4 too! I was surprised that I couldn't find
a fix for it on Microsoft. Well, there were a few patches that helped clean
out a previously installed version, but this particular problem was not
particularly laid out, but it worked!
