I purchased a brand new laptop then I find files with messages on dated
before I ever got the laptop going on that when you upgrade to Windows XP the
software installed is incompatable with Window Xp also that Window 2000
adminastration tool has to be uninstall before you upgrade to Windows XP. I
have been given the run around from the comapny I purchased so please can
someone tell me what they think. Is it new are used? If no one can help can
you tell me where I can get help

It sounds like it's an ex-demo model to me.

Most of what you say is indecipherable about Windows XP vs Windows 2000.
If the system is unacceptable, return it, within the guidelines for said
companies return policy. If you have a disagreement with the company,
check with the Better Business Bureau.

Are you aware that there are going to be files on your system that were
created before your system was fired up? I used to work for a computer
manufacturer and we had a woman call us convinced the Mafia had owned her
computer before she did and they were using it to send secret messages about
drug trafficking, etc. We had a heck of a time with that sale!

(And then there was the woman I spoke with who felt that Norton (Symantec)
sends viruses to your computer for the sake of selling their anti-virus
program. She got PO'd at me and hung up when I asked her why, since she was
so afraid of viruses, she was buying a computer to go-online. She did call
back and apologized for her reaction.

I dealt with one that was not connected to the we but assured me the U.S.
Govt. was hacking him and getting his personal information.
