wmf file import stopped working

I purchased a new Canon scanner and installed the software included with the
scanner. Since that time, Publisher (and other Microsoft applications) give
an error message the wmf converter is not installed. I re-installed Publisher
and still the error occurs. Any clues? Thanks, Andy

Have you done a custom installation and selected the particular wmf graphic
converter?

Rename the wmf filter, drag a new instance from your setup disk. Reinstalling does
not guarantee filters being overwritten.
The filters are in folder similar to this

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Microsoft Shared\Grphflt

Find WMFIMP32.FLT, rename it to WMFIMP32.old.
