wmv song in powerpoint slide show

in a ppt slide show i want to have background music.
the file format of the song is windows wmv.
is there a way to put this windows wmv song in the ppt slide show?

WMV is a video file format, so should be inserted via Insert > Movies and Sounds

Movie from FIle. If you meant WMA, which is an audio format, then use Insert

Movies and Sounds > Sound from File.
