Won't display "plain text" in message body

Using MS Office Outlook 2003 (11.5608.5703)and WinXP Pro
(SP1).
The body of received messages will not display if sent in
plain text. They ok if sent in HTML.
I have checked the "Read all standard main in plain text"
option.
I ran regsvr32 inetcomm.dll from the command prompt and
followed instructions outlined in MS knowledge base
article 312351. In IE I also selected View, Encoding and
unchecked Auto-Select and chose instead "Western European
(ISO)".
I have several identical stations working ok and all
preferences are set the same.
I'm out of options. Any ideas?
