Word 2000

After restoring to an earlier restore point (windows XP Home service pack 2)
Word will not open. I get an error message " the patch pakage could not be
opened.etc." I get the same message when I try to reinstall or uninstall
word. My disks are Works Suite 2000. Help anyone!
