Word 2002 and Rotation of Images

A

Andre Southgate

Hi There!

I have 25 workstations all running Office XP 2002 SP1 or no
service pack..

on roughly half of the machines, if you rotate an image
inserted into word, regardless of its source, the image
vanishes. Same thing if you do a page break as well. Other
machines with the same pictures are fine.

What is the problem and how do I fix it?

cheers

In Normal view, Word will allow you to rotate an inline image (using the
Rotate Left button on the Picture toolbar, which is the only way to rotate
an inline object in Normal view), but it then becomes wrapped and is not
visible in Normal view. If you switch to Print Layout view, it should be
visible but is not. If you look at the Undo list, it says "Bring to Front."
If you Undo this and use the same button in Print Layout view, it will
rotate the object as expected, and the Undo list will say Rotate Object.
This is a bug IMO.
