Word 2002 SP3 - Save normal.dot like a regular document

Hi...

Lately when Word closes, it takes a longer than
usualy time, and it seems to be saving normal.dot
as a regular document (that is, it shows up on
both the Windows start menu and on the Word File
menu recent files list).

That seems abnormal to me.

Have I accidentally changed some kind of setting?
