A while back I started getting this error when opening MS
Word 2002. Windows Installer comes up with "preparing to
install", "plz. wait while ms configures Word 2002", then
it cautions that "the feature you're trying to use is on a
network that is unavail. click ok to try again or enter an
alternate path to a folder containing the install.
pack 'wordret.msi' in the box below.
I ignored it for a while and thought initially that it
began when I went onto a Japanese website. (thought it had
to do with fonts) Since then I have uninstalled Word
because I thought that my system recovery disk included
Word (application recovery disk 1 has Word on it but spits
out the disk when I try to install). Sony has told me I
have to purchase Word now. I tried to restore my computer
back to an earlier date but now I'm wondering if Word is
gone. The techs at Sony were useless but that's not just
because I didn't want to hear that my expensive laptop
didn't really come with the backup programs I thought it
had. (purchased at Costco) Any advice would be greatly
appreciated.
