Word 2003 Documents

Is it possible to hide or expose paragraphs in a Word document based on a
user profile? For example, If I have a policy document with sections
relating to LA and NY. Can I hide the LA section for the NY staff and vice
versa hide the NY section for the LA staff?
Thanks.

You can use a conditional field to insert text, autotext, a document or a
bookmarked section of a document.
{ASK Location "NY or LA?"}{IF {REF Location} = "NY" "This is NY text" "{IF
{REF Location} = "LA" "This is LA text" }"}
You can replace the two texts with just about anything that can be included
in a document and you can repeat the IF field part as required in the
document. The field boundaries are entered with CTRL+F9.

I think he just wants certain people to see without modifying the document.
Based on profile..no.

The reason i say without modifying the document is what if they typed in LA
and they were from NY..

The staff don't know where they work?

...if it is something others shouldn't view don't you think they'll put in
the other cities to see what everyone else's text looks like?

This guy sounds like he is leaning more towards confidentiality.

If that were the case, he should provide different templates for the
different offices so the problem wouldn't arise, but as he hasn't come back
to tell us we'll never know.
