word 2003 graphics distorted

In word 2003 when doing graphics on the screen when you
scroll down the graphics get off center or has a line
through them. If you go to print preview they look fine
and they print fine. It just makes it hard to insert
graphics when on the screen they are off center. Does
anyone know how to correct this problem?

Hi, Gary. Try turning off hardware acceleration in Start | Control Panel | Display | Advanced | Troubleshoot. If this fixes the problem, then gradually increase hardware acceleration until the problem recurs, and back it down a notch.
