Word 2003 keeps shutting down

Prester John

I have a problem with my Word 2003. This same problem happened with the beta edition and now with the edition I purchased and updated from the MS office update site. When I open word and start typing then tab to another screen to cut and paste or just to view then tab back to type the Word 2003 I receiver a message that word has to shut down and will save my work. It then restarts
It does this so frequently that I cannot get any work done on word. I have had to take MS Word off as my email editior in outlook. the signature of the error message the gets sent is
AppName: winword.exe AppVer:11.0.6113.0 AppStamp:40077019 ModName: unknown ModVer 0.0.0 ModStamp: 000000000 fDebug: 0 Offset: 73dd1b8
I have tried using the AppName and Offset to look for a solution but none could be found. I have deleted all my printers and still to no avail. Any ideas of the genesisi of this problem and possilbe solutions? Thank you.

Word on its own is inherently quite stable, though there are a few issue
that can provoke it to crash. The problem is almost certainly external to
Word, either attributable to a corrupt normal.dot file or more probably to
an errant add-in - see
http://word.mvps.org/FAQs/AppErrors/ProbsOpeningWord.htm
and http://www.gmayor.com/what_to_do_when_word_crashes.htm

If you are running Norton AV, disable its office plug-in.
