WORD 2003 Line spacing/Viewing/Printing Problem

K

Kym

when i type a document or pull up a table, if it is in normal view, it looks
fine. if i put it in print layout our look at print preview, the spacing is
way off where there are only 2-3 lines per page (and prints this way as
well). all of my settings are fine. i did repair and reinstall and nothing
changed. it was working fine until about 2 weeks ago. HELP!!

Make sure that the page alignment is set to Top and not Justified (on the
Layout tab of Page Setup) and that you don't have a lot of paragraphs
formatted as "Keep with next" (which would pull text to the next page).

If there are only 2 or 3 lines per page, you need to work out why Word
thinks it needs to page break where it does. It could be the line or
paragraph spacing, but more likely is inappropriate 'keep with next' or
'page break before' settings. Use Format > Paragraph to check what's going
on. Better still, use and customise the built-in styles for headings and
body text paragraphs to get the formatting you need.
