Word 2003 OA and other questions

I'm very confused about Wood 2003. My office assistant keeps disappearing - then the Help window says to run setup. If I turn the computer off, I can bring it back. What do I need to do to keep my OA? BTW - I'm a writer who has no clue how much of this works - I just do what people show me to do.

Also, when I upgraded by Word 2000 to 2003, I also lost the ability to use Word as my Outlook editor. Can anyone help withthis, too?
