Word 2003 Opens without stopping at template page

I upgraded older version of office to 2003. It works fine but when I select
word from program list it opens right to a new document without stopping on
the type document selection window. What should I do or is this a new
feature with this version? If I need a memo or resume form I use to select
it at that window.

Word (every version) has always by default opened with a new Blank Document
based on Normal.dot. If you had a previous version that opened the New
dialog, you must have had an AutoExec macro. Or, if you had Word 2002, it
could be that you had the New Document task pane opening at startup (can't
remember whether it did that or not). Word 2003 substituted the Getting
Started task pane.

You can access the New Document task pane with File | New... (that still
requires that you choose "On My Computer" to get to the Templates dialog, or
you can add a button for the New dialog by following the instructions in
