I found all areas mentioned. There are no normal.dot macros, no global
macros, and no "COM" add-ins.

After I delete the 'normal.dot' file, on the next start up it fiores right
up, then after a normal close the next start up is still delayed.

As both Suzanne and I have stated, if Word starts in Safe Mode, the problem
is with a third party add-ins or conflict. In Safe Mode, Word runs in its
vanilla mode as though it has been freshly installed bypassing all add-ins,
templates and other influencing drivers.

I suggest that you again check that you have the latest driver for your
printer, delete the printer and reinstall it. If the problem persists,
delete the printer and try running Word without a printer to see if that is
the problem.

Uninstalling and reinstalling will be a total waste of time unless you are
prepared to reformat your drive and start with a fresh install of Windows
and Office.
