Word and PowerPoint are different programs. Why should it work the same in
both programs? Put another way, if Word and PowerPoint both worked
identically... why have two different programs?
The fact is that they're done by different programming teams at Microsoft. I
agree that it'd be wonderful if Word handled text boxes the same way
PowerPoint does (It's hard to imagine why anyone would want it to behave the
way it does in Word). However, Word doesn't handle text boxes the way
PowerPoint does... Just as my refrigerator doesn't handle frozen lasagna the
same way my microwave does... at least not usually. ;-)
