Word 2004 crashes during launch

I've just installed Office 2004. Whenever I try and start Word it
crashes during launch. Other applications launch without problems. I
even tried launching Word as a newly created user, in case it was a
preferences problem, but it still crashes.

Could someone provide me with the md5 and file size (bytes) of a known
good copy of Word 2004. I suspect the copy I received from the
university may be the culprit.
