word 2007 end of section break

I am having a random problem of end of section break inserting into a variety
of different documents in the office (different users) no pattern, when
inserting a section break next page.

We are not using footnotes/endnotes and I have never even seen an end of
section break enter into word before - where does it come from as we can't
insert it from page layout > Breaks.

We are not even using odd or even pages.

please help.
