Word 2880 Fonts and network issues - HELP!!!

M

MacFan

I am running Microsoft Word 2008 and have my account on a network. I
am having difficulty with 2 font related issues. 1. the font menu
will not display as the WYSIWYG option. I get a straight list. And 2,
when I select a font from the main menu another font is substituted. I
have tried all the options of deleting the font cash, and word
preferences. I did a clean install and there is no difference. In
another posting someone referred to a special collection of compatible
fonts and this listing does not appear.

YET, if I start up in a local acount, (ie the administrative account on
the Mac) all three issues are resolved. Fonts display and act as
normal.

I would appreciate any assistance in resolving this bug. Is it a known
issue? Is there a work around?

I am using an Intel Mac, System 10.5.1. The Network uses PC servers.

Thanks

Hi Ron:

There's one or two issues with Network Homes and Microsoft Office.

We are trying to get a straight answer on whether network homes are
supported or not. So far, I have not seen a response on that.

I suggest talking to your network administrator about implementing a
"Roaming" profile, rather than a "Network Home". A roaming profile will be
a lot more reliable, because all resources are local, the network only holds
a synchronised copy.

Hope this helps
