Word 97, can it be used on XP Pro

I have a version of Word 97 and want to know if I can Install this on my new XP Pro
computer. Is this 97 version compatible with XP ?? Can I get an update from Microsoft? Can I get a credit for the 97 version or do I have to pay for the 03 version?

Hi, Ron,

Don't let the letters throw you. Word 97 runs perfectly well on
Windows XP.

The reverse isn't always true. Office XP won't run on any Windows
version earlier than Windows 98. That's not a problem for you.

When you do install Word 97, be sure to get the two service releases
that fix bugs and close security holes. See
