Word 97 hangs when saving to a network drive

I have a W2ksp4 computer with Word 97. When I save to the "users" share on my
W2k3 SBS server Word stops responding for about 30 seconds and then saves
successfully. This doesn't happen in Excel or any other program. When I save
to the local hard drive it's okay. If I share to any share other than "users"
it works fine. I've tried updating to SR-2, using winword.exe /unregserver
and /regserver, deleting Normal.dot and none of those have worked. I suspect
it may be a problem with how SBS synchronizes or caches the default "users"
share. The physical location of this share on the server is c:\Users Shared
Folders.

If anyone has any ideas or solutions please let me know.
