Word 97:how do I create drop down fields that auto-change other fi

In Word 97, how do I create drop down fields that automatically update other
drop down fields within a document?

Essentially I want to have a drop down field with 3 entries. I will have
several of the same fields scattered throughout a document. I want to be able
to update all the entries after I update/change an entry in one single field.
