Word-97 w/ Word-XP

I can't open a Word-XP doc. (saved as Word-97 with disabling features after Word-97, running on Win-XP Home edition PC) w/ my Word-97 Hebrew edition (running on Win-95 Enabled version). This problem doesn't occure when I'm saving Excel files in the same way, using the same PC's
There are no relevant update downloads that I found on the microsoft support web sites
How can I solve this problen to be able to open and edit a file on my Word-97 PC
