WORD CLOSES WHEN MINIMIZED

When I minimize Word to my taskbar, it dissappears, without any
message/notice, when I click on it to maximize it. It completely disappears.

Anyone know why, or how I can prevent this?

Is this the only application that does this? Is Word still running in
Task Manager?

It's possible you have encountered a bug in the Handwriting
Recognition services. Try the following:

- Open your Control Panel
- Open Regional and Language Settings (or Text Services for Windows
2000)
- Select the Language tab
- Click Details
- Remove Handwriting Recognition
